Img 0924 Lesser stag beetle

Author 'Yvann31' (Id 70816 ) : Here is a photo of an insect who walked in my garden! I would say that it is a beetle but I doubt! Thank you tell me if I'm wrong or not.

Would this not a lucane female: 11:, beautiful picture, it is clear mandibles that prove that a female; those of males are enormous.

A crop from the bottom and the right side to decenter the subject would be good.

From the family of 'Lucanidae' I think it is the beetles 'small deer' also called 'Dorcus parallelepiped' (Dorcus parallelipipedus). While not attractive, background earth is still well worth the insect. Centering and edging would be welcome. I know it's already been said. Belle made anyway: congratulations and thank you.

Yes it must be a species of beetle, the one you specify without doubt. As Marcel says, should crop. There may be a bit more sharpness.

Damage need to often clarify that it is necessary to decentre the subject.
Of course everything is allowed to everyone !

Rather agree with you Marcel but don't forget to put the link that explains it in more detail, especially as Yvann31 is a young member.

Otherwise, sharpness is waiting for you so good point .
By contrast the background is a little... Bad. It would have perhaps been more interesting to wait until it is on a sheet or something more colorful.
