It is a Amarante queue-de-renard (Amaranthus caudatus ), a plant of tropical origin sometimes called the wheat of the Incas. The latter consumed the seeds and the leaves as a vegetable. The flowers are very numerous, grouped in spikes cylindrical red, recalling the appearance of a tail that ends up hanging out majestically to earth. Amaranth has astringent properties.
